All plastic industries generate some form plastic scrap in one way or another. The scrap may be in the form of plastic purge from the injection unit while starting the machine, in the form of runners, or excessive flashing, or badly moulded products etc. Depending on the company's policy, this scrap can reground and remoulded if need be. For this specific purpose scrap grinders are extreme useful.
Scrap grinders contain a set of fixed and rotating blades for shearing and cutting the plastic raw material into small pieces. These blades are connected to a motor. The scrap grinder is fed with the plastic scrap and it cuts the same into small pieces which can be mixed with fresh granules and reused in moulding the finished product.
